The owner of Calabash, Sunyatta Amen comes from a family herbalists with roots in Jamaica and Cuba and a deep knowledge of teas, tonics, and herbs to be used for various ailments or health woes.

The calming surroundings of Calabash make it a nice spot to meet up for a variety of reasons: for tourists interested in healthy fare, for friends to catch up, a cozy place for dates, or a spot in close proximity to Howard University for study sessions.
