My TV To-Watch List

Although I am a big reader, I have always loved watching TV. Even in the ‘before times’ prior to the pandemic, I often used TV as an easy addition to small talk exchanges with strangers, co-workers, and friends + family alike. I love re-hashing what I’ve watched (or read) with anyone interested. Here are a few shows that have been on my to-watch list to start (or finish) that I hope to get around to sometime soon.

The Expanse | Amazon Video

IMDB Description: In the 24th century, a disparate band of antiheroes unravel a vast conspiracy that threatens the Solar System's fragile state of cold war.

Why I want to watch: As a life-long lover of sci fi film, tv and books I’ve heard good things about this show, so want to settle in and catch up on all of the seasons.

The Crown | Netflix

IMDb Description: Follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II's reign and the events that shaped the second half of the twentieth century.

Why I want to watch: The first season of this show is quite immersive and interesting if you’re into the history/drama behind the British royals (which I moderately am). As soon as I’m in the mood for it, will resume watching.

I May Destroy You | HBO

IMDb Description: The question of sexual consent in contemporary life and how, in the new landscape of dating and relationships, we make the distinction between liberation and exploitation.

Why I want to watch: I’ve heard how good (and upsetting) this acclaimed show is so I want to watch for myself and see the brilliant Michaela Coel do her thing.

The Queen’s Gamit | Netflix

IMDb Description: Orphaned at the tender age of nine, prodigious introvert Beth Harmon discovers and masters the game of chess in 1960s USA. But child stardom comes at a price.

Why I want to watch: I watched the first two episodes and really enjoyed them, I really need to finish this!

Queen Sugar | Hulu or Amazon Video

IMDb Description: Follows the life of three siblings, who move to Louisiana to claim an inheritance from their recently departed father - an 800-acre sugarcane farm.

Why I want to watch: I love this book and loved the first two seasons, so this is yet another show I need to catch up on so I’m current.

Lupin | Netflix

IMDb Description: Inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop sets out to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family.

Why I want to watch: Another show that looks super interesting that I watch to check out!

Little Fires Everywhere | Hulu

IMDb Description: Based on Celeste Ng's 2017 bestseller, "Little Fires Everywhere" follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives.

Why I want to watch: A show that’s been on my to-watch list for a while that I finally want to watch so I can have my own opinion about it!

You | Netflix

IMDb Description: A dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man goes to extreme measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.

Why I want to watch: The first season of this show that I watched was creepy/disturbing yet watchable at the same time. I want to go back and finish up the 2nd season before the next season comes out.
